...time for catch up!

Well, I guess its been quite awhile since this thing has been updated. The latest blog said April the final countdown is on. Now its August (yikes!) and the countdowns done been counted down, but here we go.

This summer has been crazy busy. Starting out in May, the wedding was what I'd call a success. We both showed up, both were dressed properly, had the rings, and ended it with an "I do." and a kiss. I think the style of it really was 'us'. I know everyone says that but it really was. It was great to have my family down from South Dakota to get a glimpse of the life I've (Scotty) built for myself.

After the wedding of course comes the honeymoon. We took a cruise to Cozumel Mexico and it was a lot of fun. En route to Cozumel was a stop in Progresso Mexico, which was my favorite part. We went into the city and went shopping and wheeling n' dealing. Shopping in Mexico is alot of fun, but when isn't shopping fun when you only have to spend about 20 dollars and walk away with a whole lot of loot. Cozumel was fun as well, we choose as a part of our package an inclusive beach resort where we went kayaking out to the ocean, swim, fish chasin, and relaxing with free drinks. We both loved the five day cruise, but agreed that the next cruise will be with a group of friends and look forward to it!

After returning from the cruise, we got off our boat in Galveston and went on to Port Aransas on Padre Island and spent time with Alessa's dad's family. Which was fun as well, before honeymoon I had never seen the ocean so spending about ten days on it was an experience for sure. We came back to Stephenville and started to settle in the house together. Before the wedding I was living in it alone, and it finally felt good to have a roommate that I know isn't going to go off and get married and leave me looking for another place to live. (Rem, Jimmy, and Aaron - all previous roommates who married and left me in such situation, but understandable :D )
When we returned also, our corgi "Cooper" was missing. We arent sure if he was stolen for sure but we are leaning towards that after hearing many other stories about puppy theives on the prowl. So we decided to get another dog, we tried a boxer "Harley" but he just didnt work out. So we went searching for another corgi dog, and thats where Bentley Micheal comes into the picture. He already is showing the character and personality that corgis are known for. We feel like he is an appropriate replacement for Cooper.

Other than all that big news, our summer has been filled with plenty of time on the water. Experiencing one of the hottest summers in Texas history is one that we will be glad to see in the history books. We went to a family reunion on Lake Proctor, spent some time on the lake in San Angelo where I got some critical boat driving lessons, plenty trips back to T-Dubb and Jefferys for pool time, and a quick trip to Kansas to see my niece, nephew, and sister. One of my brothers has moved to Stephenville so we've spent time with him and my little brother has been coming now and then so the world is starting to tilt off its axis after three (now four) O'Bryans get together. On top of that there was only about a hundred College Life weddings, along with Wyatt Reign Hatcher and Brayden James Hammond coming into the world, I'd say we and our friends are growing up!

Now is the ending to this blog, I know I've promised "to keep up on this blog " - this time I swear, kind of. Hope this finds you just as happy and healthy. Happy trails to you and may the Good Lord smile on you daily.... and all that stuff when you wish people good things at good-byes :).

Well April...its the final countdown!

CRUNCH TIME!! As the final month of school is narrowing down a bit theres always that rushed feeling for the final month. Wedding is in T minus 36 days! And getting settled into the new house. I think we are both ready for the wedding to get here so after that the worry of school and putting together an awesome wedding are both accomplished and we can get to just having a normal life and a summer. With everything thats gone on in our lives the past year, and all the "Compassion" push thats happening at the church, and of course the movie To Save a Life. We are really starting to think outside our box. It seems the past few weeks both of us have been more concerned with how people are in the outside world, and I think thats how it should be. As Christians we forget that as of the day of our salvation, its no longer about us. God first, people second, and then us. So I think thats been a big push in our daily life trying to get accomplished. And its turning out. But just be prayin for us to start letting stress of school go, life to settle and SLOW DOWN! and for us to keep this feeling of wanting to do something greater for someone else. OH, and heres a few pictures of daily life the past few weeks... just to keep you updated if your note following us on facebook.

Cooper the FROG DOG... hes a goober.

He does like to take rides now and again. This is us and Alessas nephew Cash...he's also a bit of a chunk..

Decorating the house.. a work in progress but heres a peak :)

Well folks, its time. We have started decorating the house and setting it up. Tomorrow will be my first official day at the house. We've got the most of things moved in and set up kinda. Still boxes everywhere, and Sunday is our shower so there will be TONS more of things laying around. So heres some pictures and a tour of what we've got set up so far. Enjoy!

Ive always been a sucker for dark floors..even if its not real wood.

One wall of the living room and the recliner..which I'm sitting at now.

This is hanging up in the office, it was painted by Hannah Kluge whose art is about to be HUGE i promise you. Iowa watch out.

This is the hallway by the stairs and the door that leads to the side porch.

This is the mirror in the living room...and me in it.. taking a picture outside of it.

This is a few of our crosses that havent been hung up, they have places to go though.

more of them...

This is one of the red walls in the kitchen. EVERYONE needs alphabet magnets!

Well this is my corner in the office... for now until her stuff moves in after the wedding and we'll re-arrange accordingly. That dresser has been in my family for about five or six generations. Ive got a rocking chair that is much older, but it has a oodle amount of stuff sitting on it now, sorry Grandma Becky, I'll clear it soon!

LOVE: is friendship set on fire.

This is our Pennsy cross...given to us by a friend from up there. it has the different names of Christ all over it.

The magnets!! The irishman is a beer top opener Alessa got me in Ireland. And the polar bear one, well when we were "just friends" we stopped at a gas station and a sweet old mexican lady made me buy it for Alessa cause she was so pretty. It says, have you had your bear hug today?

Alessa in the bathroom mirror.

everyone loves a tiled bathroom floor, right?

this is looking through the doors of the laundry room, through the office, and into the hallway before our bedroom.

just a random corner in the kitchen.

Thats it for now folks.. keep coming back and keep track of our progress. :) And no, we arent living together yet. We're going to wait until after the wedding. But I'm staying here, because in just about a week, our roommates are getting hitched, so i needed a place to go so we decided to start our home early! Its a technique I picked up from Jimmy and April Hatcher ;). Have a good day and be blessed!

ah 754. slow down life.

Jimmy Hatcher and I.. the first roommate of 754. we were messing with this and his words were.."if we were twins and these umbilical cords this is what we would look like in the belly." He was always a philisophical (sp?) guy.

well the old duplex, well its been a good two years. Packing up this place is just kinda what it is. I've had about three roommates living here. Two married, and one just moved on. Its been a good place to live, landlord extremely fair, and not far from all the essentials..

but, its time to move on to bigger and better things. All the electricity water interenet etc shall be moved to the new house and saturday my new home of residence and address will be 363 Orr. *big breath* ooftta our first home! Thats kind of exciting and wierd to say at all the same time. Life please slow down.

Back when April was still ms. collier, and Jimmy was her honey do boyfriend of all things, he was the first roommate. Probably been my favorite roommate in the many it seems i've had. Crazy sense of humor and that big brother type. Now they are moved off and expecting the groups first "nephew" little Wyatt. All his Stephenville "aunts and uncles" are going to spoil the heck out of that kid.

And then after Jimmy was Doug, oh Doug. Mr. California who actually went to a college in South Dakota and then we both met up in Texas. He was fun and his sense of humor was about like Jimmys, dry and upbeat.. its a true combination.

And then came Aaron, the current. It seems we went through it all at the same time. With our two ladies planning their weddings under the same roof, we were constantly in the same boat sometimes. Even before we were roommates there was always talk of it, and then I guess it came too. His love of the Rangers as everyone knows seems to be stronger than anyone I know, but thats a good thing, we all should have something like that in life.

But like i said, good things come to an end. I've been blessed with good roommates all through. I've never not got along with any of them and came out good friends with all of them. In fact two of them are groomsmen to be.

So 754 S third, its been fun real and real fun. From pumpkin carvings, man nights, packings, movings, wedding plannins, barking dogs, wierd neighbors, mormom visitations, door to door sales people getting angry, and much more.. you've been a good bachelor pad. But its time to move on to what we'll call our "first house" and bigger things in life.

Holla!

So it begins...

Well here's the bandwagon jump on. Blogging!! By no means are we celebrities that you want to know everything about our lives, nor should you worry we will post the "un-needed" (that word looks off to me). But on here you can be sure you can follow our lives as we know it on that particular day. I cannot promise anything daily, but I will try to do it on the regular. So if you want, send me a message on facebook on what you want to know about us!! Cause really a good blog starter would help. But like the title said this is also for some reflecting on our own. So here it is.
*ahem*
Captains blog.
The day is March 22, 2011. I'm sitting in the library, with a to do list of homework that really starting this blog trumped. Between the two of us school is not really on our minds right now. It should be more so but its not. Alessa did her first all nighter clinical at the hospital last night, so more than likely she's a zombie right now.
I'm working at Triple T Longhorns as a certified poop scooper and tail polisher. But thats fine it suits me. (comments from the peanut gallery to themselves).
Wedding planning is getting finalized, just a little under two months to go! Wedding shower is on this coming Sunday. We'll keep you updated. And of course...drumroll... I should be moved into our house this week. Now thats whats up!! I'll do a picture post of it after we get it all done and finalized and moved in.

Well thats all i know to write as of know. So on ending is a challenge, invest in someone today. No not a hello, hi, I was thinking of you text. Actually INVEST in someone, genuinely be interested in how they are at in life, do more than a text and call them, and then do a follow up with them tomorrow. Peace out A town, be blessed.
